Here are some of the most frequently asked questions when setting up Sealease solutions.

  • Is it possible to finance private boats ?

    Sealease addresses the needs of the professional only.

    Requests from private individuals will not be treated.

  • Which are the types of financial products ?

    Sealease offers long term full service lease products with or without a fixed purchase option.

    In the case of a lease contract with no fixed purchase option, the client benefits from rental instalments matching the real usage of the boat. If the client envisages the purchase of the boat at the end of the contract term, the price will be a fair maket value price at this moment.

    In the case of a lease contract with a fixed purchase option price, the client will raise or not the option to purchase the boat at contractually defined price.

  • How much is the requested down payment ?

    Sealease will minimise the amount of down payment requested to conclude the contract.

    Typically a guarantee ranging between 10 to 20% will be requested, and from time to time an increased first rental amount.

    The guarantee is reimbursed at the end of term if all obligations have been met.

  • Which are the possible payment profiles ?

    A very great flexibility exists.

    From fixed monthly payments to variable payments according to seasonability and related incomes, Sealease will define with the customer the best available option.

  • Can we subscribe to a third party insurer ?

    Yes, the customer has the choice to insure himself elsewhere than through the Sealease solutions, providing that the insurance at least covers all the obligations required by Sealease.

    However, the insurance solution proposed by Sealease offers an exhaustive cover and a competitive price negotiated on volume.

  • Who is responsible for the maintenance of the boat ?

    The operator is responsible for the maintenance of the boat.

    Sealease has defined a maintenance charter, fully integrated in the lease contract.

  • Where must be located the sites of operations ?

    Sealease provides solutions everywhere in the world, except for about ten countries excluded by UNO conventions.

  • Which are the excluded zones of exploitation ?

    Thanks to the 4 flags offered by Sealease (France, Germany, Belgium and Spain), the boats can be exploited practically everywhere in the world.

    There remain however zones which require a local flag (Thailand, Croatia, for example), for which Sealease does not have solutions yet.

  • What happens at the end of the contract ?

    At the end of the contract, the customer has the choice between:

    • Buying the unit, either at market's conditions in the case of a long term contract hire or at the cost of the purchase option, in the case of a lease contract with such option;
    • Extending the contract for a new period of 12 months minimum;
    • Returning the unit to Sealease with no further obligation.

    In all cases, the customer will have to inform Sealease of his final choice at least 6 months before the end of the contract.
