The Day Charter boats are typically catamarans up to 80 feet with a capacity between 30 and 150 passengers. The tourists who are embarking on a journey typically enjoy a half day at sea, whale watching, do jet skiing, or just enjoy fauna and flora in a beautiful setting. The ideal locations for a day charter are mostly islands receiving a high number of tourists during a good number of months. They want to spend a half day of their week’s holiday on a boat and observe the island from a different perspective.
The operators in this boat segment are typically experienced sea-men (with 1 or more vessels) who have a close link to the local community where they operate. They have long term relationships with local and/or International travel agents and hotels who provide a significant portion of the customers. The other tourists are attracted on the spot in booths (street/shops) or via social media. All of them are seeking a unique day-cruise experience, in full security and comfort.
After the Covid period, the demand has been significant and our close ties with the manufacturers to identify production slots proves to be a key differentiator in this tight market. With severe competition between operators it is key that our customers can rely on Sealease to drive down the TCO. With 15 years of experience in this market we realize that seasonality (summer / winter) has an impact on the cash flow of our customers, which we can facilitate by proposing seasonal leases amounts (high versus low season). The responsibility of insurance package (Casco and P&I) can be taken though our preferred brokers who will finetune the ideal product depending on the needs.
